A garden room in the making - the quiet corner where Claire's next stories will be written, surrounded by greenery a short walk from the old wishing well. The photographs here show it as it is now, before the renovation begins.

Every book needs a place to begin. Ours is a little room at the bottom of the garden.

Tucked among the trees, Claire's writing room is being lovingly renovated - a project of paint, patience and plenty of tea. She's naming it The Chapter: a room of her own, where ideas can take their time and the next story can unfold.

Just across the garden stands the old wishing well that inspired Isla Rose and the Penny Wishes. It feels only right that a book about wishes should be written a few steps from one.
